Checkweighing scales
The basic premise of a checkweigher is that it will allow you to setup an ideal target weight that you would like to reach and then an acceptable range of weights plus or minus that will also work for your application. For example, let's say you're weighing bags of assorted bolts, washers, and nuts that you include in a parts kit you sell. When the bag is correctly filled it weighs exactly one pound. You could set your target weight as 1.0 lbs. You can set your under tolerance at 0.98 lbs and your upper tolerance at 1.02 lbs.
Of course, you can experiment with these tolerances and fine tune them if needed. Now when you place your parts bag on the scale the green light will appear anytime a bag displays a weight of 0.99, 1.00, or 1.01 lbs. A yellow light will appear for anything equal to or less than 0.98 lb. This will let the scale operator know that some item is missing from the bag. Likewise, a red light will appear for any weight that shows 1.02 lb or higher. This means that there is some extra part in the bag, which means you're giving away extra assembly parts.
Important Features Like Stainless Steel Construction, Displays, & Hi Speed
If you're in the food industry, then stainless steel, wash down safe scales are important to meet stringent food hygiene requirements. Some of our check weighing scales are certified by NSF to NSF/ANSI Standard 3-A, such as the ZQ375 Checkweigher which has been specifically designed to meet the stringent hygiene requirements of the food processing industry with IP69K rated for heavy washdown environments. In addition to the enclosure, it's important that scale operators be able to actually see the weights. The Cardinal 190 STORM’s bright, vivid display changes color automatically as the pre-assigned target weights are reached. The operator knows immediately when they’ve reached the acceptable weight range based on the amber, green, or red color changes for UNDER, ACCEPT, or OVER weights.
In many cases it's important to choose a NTEP approved scale that is legal for trade, making it suitable for use in commercial applications where product is sold by weight. It's important to choose a scale that is going to provide you with the performance you need. Do you need connectivity to integrate with your back office systems via Wireless, USB or Ethernet? How about the ability to connect to a label printer? Finally, in addition to standard counter top scales, we do have a hi speed checkweigher available. However, you will need to fill out a form in order for that to be quoted.
